Österreichische Vereinigung für Supervision

What is Supervision?

Supervision is the consulting method for all professional challenges facing individuals, teams, groups and organisations. The ÖVS supervisors help you to fine tune professional solutions to efficiently and successfully overcome the challenges facing your institution. In one-to-one sessions, in teams or in groups, supervision aims to simulate professional environments and to enable the participants involved to cope with the problems and challenges involved, to resolve conflicts and actively manage periods of structural change.

Supervision offers:

  • Help with  reflections and decisions on current topics
  • Support in challenging or burdensome work situations and conflicts
  • Clarification and formulation of tasks, orders, functions and roles
  • Support during periods of structural change and advice on how to cope with them
  • Innovative solutions to new challenges
  • Anti-bullying and burnout prevention advice

Supervision helps both individuals and groups to discover new dimensions and possibilities within their working environments. By means of lateral thinking and, often, unexpected questions the supervisor initiates new answers and solutions.

Supervision is a specific type of consulting that accompanies and supports people in professional scenarios. Under the guidance of a supervisor questions and topics arising from professional challenges are reflected upon and clarified, and future alternative possibilities for action are developed.
